چکیده
Abstract Prolonged drought periods cause a cascade of biochemical alterations in plants and lead to reduction plant growth crop productivity. Seaweed extracts are category biostimulants that effective alleviating stress on plants. However, the effect seaweed attenuating negative impact Faba bean ( Vicia faba L .) under arid semi-arid conditions has received little attention. This study was conducted evaluate performances made from Fucus spiralis (FSE), Ulva lactuca (ULE), Laminaria ochroleuca (LOE), Ascophyllum nodosum (ANE) mitigating bean. The profile characterized, key physiological parameters were assessed during both recovery phases. All investigated positively affected biomass conditions. Plants LOE had higher relative water content lower malondialdehyde concentration comparison with stressed control positive ANE FSE mainly attributed proline accumulation tissues stress. ULE application resulted soluble sugars treated It concluded originating different sources extracted using protocols act differentially altering plant-related traits. Drought stress impact on leaf proteome variations of faba bean (Vicia faba L.) in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau of China
Water scarcity is a major abiotic stress factor that strongly influences growth, development and yield of grain legumes in arid and semi-arid area of the world. Drought stress frequently occurs during the seedling stage and finally affects yield of faba bean (Vicia faba L.). However, the responses of plant leaf to drought have not been documented very well at the proteomic level. "Ga da dou" of...
متن کاملEnhancing faba bean (Vicia faba L.) genome resources
Grain legume improvement is currently impeded by a lack of genomic resources. The paucity of genome information for faba bean can be attributed to the intrinsic difficulties of assembling/annotating its giant (~13 Gb) genome. In order to address this challenge, RNA-sequencing analysis was performed on faba bean (cv. Wizard) leaves. Read alignment to the faba bean reference transcriptome identif...
متن کاملSusceptibility of Faba Bean (Vicia faba L.) to Heat Stress During Floral Development and Anthesis
Experiments were conducted over 2 years to quantify the response of faba bean (Vicia faba L.) to heat stress. Potted winter faba bean plants (cv. Wizard) were exposed to temperature treatments (18/10; 22/14; 26/18; 30/22; 34/26 °C day/night) for 5 days during floral development and anthesis. Developmental stages of all flowers were scored prior to stress, plants were grown in exclusion from ins...
متن کاملGene Function Expression Profile of Faba bean (Vicia faba) Seeds
Faba bean (Vicia faba L) is one of the important grain crops worldwide and its genome, the largest among grain legumes (approx. 13.4 Gb), has yet to be sequenced. Comprehensive knowledge of genes expressed in the crop's large seeds would not only help drive new genetic improvements in the crop but also aid its future genome characterization. Here, we applied high throughput RNASeq (Quantificati...
متن کاملTrypsin inhibitor activity in the field bean (Vicia faba L.).
Wilson and McNab' reported an increase in live-weight and a reduction in pancreas size of chicks when field beans (Viciu fabu L.) were autoclaved at 120 "C for 30 min. Such effects may be due to the presence in the raw field bean of a trypsin inhibitor analogous to those found in the soyabean and other legumes. Information on the presence of trypsin inhibitors in the field bean and on growth of...
